These terms cover the Introducing Salzburg mobile app. Using the app means you accept them. They are short on purpose: you should be able to read them standing in a street in Salzburg.
1. Who you are agreeing with

We publish the app under the name “Introducing Salzburg”. Where these terms say “we” or “us”, that is the company above.
2. What the app gives you
A curated guide to places, experiences and people in and around Salzburg, with maps, trip planning and offline access. The app is free. You can use all of it without signing in. If you do sign in, your saved places and trip plans sync between your devices.
3. What you agree to
- Use it personally and lawfully. Do not scrape it, reverse-engineer it, or redistribute the content commercially. The text and photographs in the app are ours or licensed to us. Open-source components keep their own licences where indicated.
- Behave normally. Do not attack the API, brute-force sign-in links, or send spam through the support form. We rate-limit, and we will block an account that keeps hitting the limits.
- Be yourself. When you send feedback or a support message, it should come from you and not from someone you are pretending to be.
- Be 13 or older. The app is not designed for younger users and we are not set up to handle their data under child-protection law.
4. What we do not promise
The information in the app is put together by people and updated when we learn something has changed. We try hard, and we still get things wrong. In particular we do not guarantee that a place will be:
- Still in business
- Open at the hours we list
- Priced as we list
- Reachable by the route or the transport we show
- Step-free, kid-friendly, dog-friendly, or anything else we describe, because that varies and sometimes we simply got it wrong
Check before you rely on a fact, especially opening hours, prices, and anything you would travel across town for. This is true of every travel guide ever written. We just say it out loud.
The same goes for getting around. Routes, walking times and map directions are suggestions, not instructions. Watch the traffic, watch the weather, watch the trail, and use your own judgement about what is safe for you.
We also cannot promise the app or its API will be available at all times. Things break. We fix them, usually within hours.
5. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of the app or from relying on its content. If a court finds us liable anyway, the limit is what you paid us, which for a free app is zero.
This does not affect rights you have under Austrian or EU consumer law that cannot be waived, and it does not limit our liability for gross negligence, for intentional misconduct, or for personal injury.
6. Your account
An account is optional. You can delete yours at any time from the Account tab, or by writing to us if you have already uninstalled the app. The full procedure, what is erased and what is kept, is on our account deletion page.
We can close an account that breaks these terms through spam, abuse, or attempts to compromise the system. We will normally contact you first, unless the abuse is still going on.
7. Privacy
What the app collects, who processes it and how long we keep it is set out in our Privacy Policy, sections 12 to 19.
8. Third-party links and bookings
The app links out to venues, transport operators and booking partners. What happens on their side is governed by their terms and their privacy policies, not ours. Where a booking link earns us a commission, it costs you nothing extra.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Austrian law. Disputes go to the competent courts in Salzburg, Austria, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules send them somewhere else, which for consumers they generally do.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will move the “last updated” date at the bottom of this page and note what changed. The app links here from its Account and Support screens, but it does not pop up a notice when the page changes, so the date is the thing to watch. Carrying on using the app after a change means you accept it. If you do not, delete your account and stop using the app.
