The Karolinenbrücke, known to locals as the Nonntaler Brücke, is one of Salzburg's three main car bridges over the Salzach, named after Empress Karoline Auguste, who opened the first bridge here in 1859. The reinforced concrete deck was laced with bent-steel arches in a 2006 reinforcement, and those arches frame the Hohensalzburg Fortress at dusk, making it a quietly excellent vantage for fortress photography. Free, always open.
