The Schafbergbahn steams out of St. Wolfgang at a gradient that qualifies it as the steepest rack railway in Austria, climbing from the Wolfgangsee shore to the summit at 1,783 meters in 35 minutes. At the top, you can see thirteen Salzkammergut lakes simultaneously on a clear day.
