Star Inn Hotel Salzburg Airport
Snapshot
Star Inn Hotel Salzburg Airport, now operating as Leonardo Hotel Salzburg Airport, is a budget-to-mid-range property at Franz-Brötzner-Straße 15 in Wals-Siezenheim, approximately 1.4 km from the Salzburg Airport terminal. It is the practical choice for transit stays, early departures, and visitors attending trade events at the adjacent Messe.
The Story
The property sits in the airport periphery zone rather than the city, which defines what it is for. The Altstadt and its attractions are reachable by bus in around 15 minutes, but this is not a base for exploring Salzburg on foot. It is a base for sleeping between flights, for arriving late and leaving early, or for attending conferences and trade fairs at the Salzburg Messe complex a short distance away.
The hotel offers 90 rooms with the standard airport-hotel configuration: good sound insulation, blackout curtains, free Wi-Fi, a breakfast buffet starting at 06:30, and free parking. The A1 motorway is 300 m away, which makes it convenient for arrivals by car from the west or east. The bus connection to the city centre means that visitors who want to reach the Altstadt in the evening have a reasonable option that does not require a taxi.
The building was rebranded from Star Inn to Leonardo Hotels during the Leonardo group’s European expansion. The facilities and address did not change in the process.
For visitors whose priority is the city rather than the airport zone, there are better-positioned options in the Altstadt and Neustadt. For those arriving late, leaving early, or attending the Messe, this is a straightforward and reasonably priced choice.
