The Story

Not every night in Salzburg needs to be in a historic building on the Getreidegasse. For travellers arriving or departing by train, particularly those with early or late connections, the H+ at the Hauptbahnhof solves a genuine practical problem: no transit, no bags in tow through the old town, no guesswork.

The hotel itself is a competent modern chain property. The station area is functional rather than charming. But the Altstadt is genuinely close, and the bus connections from the Bahnhof are fast and frequent. For one or two nights, with the city as the focus rather than the hotel, it is a straightforward and sensible choice.

Visiting

• Walk or take bus lines 1, 3, 5, or 6 from the Hauptbahnhof to reach the Altstadt in approximately 15 minutes.
• The Hauptbahnhof has direct rail connections to Bad Gastein, Hallstatt (via Attnang-Puchheim), and Munich.
• Airport Bus (Flughafenbus) also stops at the Hauptbahnhof.
