Salzburg Hauptbahnhof is the city’s main railway station, rebuilt and reopened in 2014 at Südtiroler Platz 1 on the edge of the Lehen district. Direct trains connect Salzburg to Vienna in under 2.5 hours, Munich in 1.5 hours, and most major Austrian cities. From the main exit, Mirabell Gardens is 15 minutes on foot and the Altstadt about 20 minutes. City buses cover the distance in under 10 minutes.
