His significance lies in what came after him. He provided the institutional continuity between the earlier era and the explosion of baroque ambition that Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau would unleash upon his death. Without the stable foundation Khuen von Belasy maintained, Wolf Dietrich's radical transformation of Salzburg might not have been possible.
